What is a hydrosol ?
A hydrolate is an aromatic water that is obtained after distillation of a plant or flower. The distilled part is an essential oil and the residual water is the hydrolate.
There is no difference between a hydrosol and a floral water because a floral water is simply a flower hydrosol.
What is a hydrosol used for?
A hydrosol offers multiple uses for taking care of your face.
Unlike essential oils, hydrosol is gentle and therefore perfectly suited to pregnant women and even children.
For example, you can use one in the morning to gently cleanse and wake up your face, to replace tap water. The hydrosol will also tone the skin and provide all its virtues before applying your daily care.
Repeat this action in the evening to eliminate all the impurities accumulated during the day without damaging or drying out the skin before applying your night cream.
Hydrosols are also excellent as makeup removers and even more so when combined with a vegetable oil.
A hydrosol is applied using a cotton pad to the face and neck, without rinsing.
